About Us

We are a small company with a big profile. A player on the world stage working from a converted farm in Somerset. Our enthusiastic verve is creatively driven. We love image making and always strive to exceed our own and our customers' expectations. The foundation for our team's success comes from a continuing education in image-making and business. We have never stopped learning and we have this wealth of knowledge and experience to pass on.

Lovegrove Foundations

The Lovegroves burst onto the wedding scene back in 2000 with a ‘shoot from the hip’ approach – often with the camera in one hand and a flashgun in the other. "Whilst shooting news all over the country for the BBC in the early 90's, I'd worked alongside some of the finest Fleet Street photographers" Damien declares, "and if they could shoot that way then so could we.” It wasn’t conventional practice at a wedding but it worked very well indeed. Lovegrove Weddings took just two years to get to the top. “This created a bit of a storm at the time” recalls Damien. Despite their maverick image in the early days the Lovegrove approach remains strict and professional.

"It is no surprise that both fame and success at the very top of their industry have come so quickly to the Lovegroves. They are a winning combination with a recipe for success." - Professional Photographer magazine

Damien

Damien Lovegrove
Damien learned his trade as a cameraman and lighting director during 14 years at the BBC, working on programmes such as the Clothes Show, Top of the Pops and Casualty. Days off from filming were often spent taking photographs for a variety of top name clients including Peugeot, Motorola, and Adidas.

Then Julie made an entrance in his life and he realised that photography wasn't the only thing he was passionate about! She comes a very close second (yes, that is a joke) and anyone who has met Damien can't fail to be inspired and motivated by his enthusiasm for his second career. So much so that once you get him started on a subject it's hard to shut him up...

Fifteen years on, Damien has become one of the foremost trainers of photography and entrepreneurial business strategies in our industry. A published writer and regular columnist, Damien has traveled the globe sharing his knowledge and expertise.

NEWS: The Guild of Photographers has given it's ultimate accolade, that of 'Master of the Craft' to Damien Lovegrove in recognition of his skills and commitment to the art of photography and the training thereof. The award has only been given to 5 other photographers throughout the world!

Julie

Julie Lovegrove
When Damien left the security of the BBC, she panicked for a weekend, then helped him to establish their business, gradually becoming more and more involved. Whilst she still continues to run the administrative side to Lovegrove Photography, she is now also a fully-fledged photographer in her own right.  For a few years she kept expecting to be 'found out' but having been a top wedding photographer she also now specialises in photographing women and babies.

Blaise

Blaise
Blaise joined us in April 2009, initially to cover Laura's maternity leave. She is now currently on maternity leave herself and we hope she will return to us in the summer of 2013.

Laura
With perfect timing to coincide with Blaise starting her maternity leave, Laura has now finished her maternity leave and we are delighted that she has returned to us. She will be your first point of contact on a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with Julie covering Tuesdays and Thursdays. Laura has picked up the systems again effortlessly and is a wonderfully calm and efficient member of our team.

Luke

Luke
Luke is now an invaluable member of our team. He is a talented illustrator and has also risen to the challenge of learning how to handle all the nuances and glitches of our new website and blog. There is a frequent cry of ' Luuuuke' here, and a few moments later calm is restored :)  Examples of his illustration skills grace the pages of this website and our blog.
